Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Refrigerator Purchase
Wanted a refrigerator - mini - for my woodworking projects in my garage. Friend had one and recommended this one to me. Works fine and it sure is nice to not have to go into the house for a cold snack/drink.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Haier Refrigerator
This refrigerator arrived in the poorest package I have ever seen for a product of ths type. The packaging had virtually disintegrated. The box was very poorly made and did not properly protect the product. There was damage that clearly was not the fault of the freight company. The result was the product was scratched and dented. To return it I would have had to find a box and completely repackage it so it wasn't worth the trouble.
The refrigerator works well enough.
I would not buy this product again due to the poor packaging.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just right
This is a dependable, well-built mini-refrigerator at a good price. It looks and performs exactly as advertised.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Horrible, horrible.
Do not buy this refrigerator! I bought this for my dorm, and I knew there was going to be trouble when the box arrived held together by a garbage bag. I plugged it in and left it for a few days, and it never got cold. A month later, still not cold at all. What a worthless piece of junk. I would send it back but the box was so mangled that it is impossible. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY!!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Haier Mini Fridge
Very nice little unit!
We use it to store Solder paste which requires refrigeration.

Good price and quick delivery.
Tried to buy a similar refridgerator at a discount computer site.
They never had the item in stock and after the third delay I cancelled the order.

Nice job Amazon!

Java Entrepreneur

Sun Microsystems has announced plans to cut between 5,000 and 6,000 jobs — that's between 15 and 18 percent of its workforce.

"It blamed the cuts on the global economic downturn, but I think that like many other companies, Sun is using the downturn as an excuse for what were pre-existing problems, foretold by its stock price, which seems to be in an unending swoon," suggests GigaOM's Om Malik.

"How much has Sun spent to develop Solaris or Java?" asks InfoWorld's Neil McAllister. "How much must it continue to invest in maintaining other products, which, despite being open source, have no appreciable development community? To say these products are not loss leaders suggests something akin to Hollywood accounting."

The answer? "Spin off Java," McAllister added in a later post. "Just get rid of it — farm it out to an industry consortium and let the companies that depend upon it manage it..."
