Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe small chef's knife is handy for mincing shallots, slicing radishes, and also for working on larger foods, especially if the sous chef has small hands and finds a big knife hard to manage. R. H. Forschner is a division of Swiss Army Brands, Inc, renowned for the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. These knives are specially ground and tempered so that they can be resharpened over and over again, keeping a sharp edge throughout their lifetime. State of the art technology blended with old world craftsmanship produce cutting instruments of excellent quality, at reasonable prices. Forschner Victorinox Fibrox knives have earned high marks in a well-known cooking magazine which stringently tests kitchen products.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great knives!
Purchased four of the Victorinox knives, and love having them. They
arrive sharp, stay sharp, and are easy to resharpen when necessary. They're lightweight and the handles are very slip-resistant. Good buy!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great inexpensive knives
I bought these knives for my son, He was amazed at the qualityof these knives. They cut effortlessly, and are easily controlled. He was considering a much more expensive knife. I'm glad to have found these.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - love it!
Though lightweight, this is the PERFECT knife to have in your kitchen. It is extremely sharp and an ideal size for everyday work. I bought the 8" one as well but I find myself using the 6" the most; it is thinner and therefore less bulky to use. The only thing I've had to get used to is its weight. I'm used to a heavier knife but the quality of the blade makes up for his lightness.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Same quality in a smaller size
We have 3 other Forschner knives (8" Chef's knife & (2) 3.5" paring knives). Like the other knives, the 6" is well balanced, sharp, and holds its edge. It may take you a while to get used to using a knife this sharp. You have to use very little pressure behind the knife to slice anything. I use both our 8" & 6" regularly. The 6" is the choice for quick vegetable prep and the heavier weight of the 8" works great on meats and harder vegetables like butternut squash.

We purchased the 6" knife because the 8" Chef's knife was a bit unnerving for my wife. Being a lot sharper than any other knife we've owned (we've gotten rid of our other chef's knives after getting Forschners), she was always worried about cutting herself with the bigger knife. She has small hands and the 6" is the perfect size for her. Now that we have both, we wouldn't get rid of either. The 6" knife was a great addition to our kitchen.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great knife -- awesome price
This line of knives was recommended in one of my cooking magazines; best knife for the price. They have several in their test kitchen.

The proposed acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe is not a done deal. Both companies are under the scrutiny of the SEC, and it must also be approved by stockholders. While Macromedia/Adobe gives this process three to nine months, some industry analysts feel that is being overly optimistic. But assuming that all is goes as planned, Macromedia will cease to exist. Everything will be in the Adobe name and with the Adobe interface.
