Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love my Senseo!
I really do love my Senseo, so much so, that I've given two of them to friends, and I also got one for my work place! I told everyone to bring in a bag of their own pods, but feel free to use it. It's much easier than making a pot of coffee and not knowing how long it's been sitting there, turning into muck!

I've tried most of the Senseo pods that are available in the U.S. market and have liked most of them. Lately, I've been brewing one pod of Columbian or Dark Roast with one pod of the Godiva Chocolate Creme or the Godiva Creme Brulee pods, just to mix things up. I'm not a big fan of flavored coffees, but using one of each gives it a slightly different taste, yet the flavor does not overwhelm the coffee taste it self.

Its quick and so easy! Once you've got the machine up and running (that is brewing clear water through it the first time to keep water in the machine and basically prime it), it's just a breeze to use. I've never used the single pod brewer, because I want a mug of coffee! Two pods = one mug. I've mixed up the pods to get different tastes and flavors. Even using one Melitta pod (they are thicker and recommend that you use only one... but they don't say if you should brew one small cup or can brew one mug) and one Senseo pod. Although I tried the Senseo Cappuccino Coffee Pods, I wasn't to crazy over those. If I want a Mochalatte, though, I'll just squirt some Hershey Syrup in the bottom of the cup before I brew a mug, and add some light cream... that's a yummy dessert coffee and extremely easy!

I will say that you do have to be careful and make sure the pods are in the holder, and the lid actually is clamped down tightly. A co-worker didn't have it clamped down correctly the first time she tried it and water did spurt out all over the place, making quite a mess! Once you get the hang of it, there's nothing to it, and you'll be able to do it in your sleep! :) I used to really like the Maxwell house pods that fit the Senseo, but can no longer find them. Folgers makes pods that fit Senseo, and they are okay, but I personally like the Senseo Columbian or the Senseo Kenya best of all followed by the Dark Roast that Senseo makes. I've never tried one of the pods that you can fill from your own coffee, but have thought of it because I like Chicory Coffee like they make in Louisiana and can't find pods of that anywhere.

I would say the only real downfall is that the water reservoir that comes with it is to small. I like the bigger one that you have to purchase separately.

I love my Senseo and would highly recommend it to everyone!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Delicious coffee, but is a bit of a headache
I have purchased 3 of these in the last five years. I like the crema, the foamy head on top of my coffee. This makes a delightful mild cup of coffee. It isn't inexpensive, pods on average run from 25 cents to 50 cents a cup. Regular filter coffee is much less expensive, but it does not have the crema, nor the smooth taste this coffee does.

This is fairly easy to operate. It makes wonderful coffee. For me personally, I used this coffee machine once a day every day. But I purchased three of these in the last five years because the pots break. All three broke in a similar manner, the water will eventually just leak out the bottom and it won't make any coffee. This may be a problem with the water I use, but I do get spring water delivery, but I can't say why this has happened multiple times.

Another drawback of this machine is you are really limited in the brands of coffee that you can use for this machine. Primarily the Senseo brand is the most available, but I have purchased Folgers as well, but you can find a coffee you want to try and use it in this machine. I feel this is a major drawback. The Keuring single cup machines do sell a device where you can use your own coffee. Their coffee maker fails to make the crema that makes coffee from the Senseo maker so good.

I have mixed feelings towards this machine. For me, the machines don't last too long, the coffee pods are pricy, and their is a limited selection on the coffee that is available. The coffee that is made is very tasty, it is smooth, and creamy. I would urge anyone considering this type of coffee maker to keep these drawbacks in mind.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Flavorless
I got this coffee maker for Christmas, as I am a college student who lives by herself. I was excited to use it, but I found the coffee to be absolutely flavorless and bland.
I do not like extremely strong coffee -- I always add milk and sugar -- but this coffee was too bland, even for me.
I don't know how this coffee maker has a 4-star review... it is not worth the money, and the coffee is not even pleasant to drink.
It is easy to use though. That's the only benefit.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Senseo Coffee Maker
Senseo HD7810/15 1450-Watt Single-Serve Coffeemaker, White

I recently purchased this coffee maker. Before doing so I read the reviews in which I find very helpful. Thanks everyone for the tips on the coffee and how to use the coffee maker. I really like the coffee maker because it is so easy to clean. You just throw the pod away when done no more messy coffee grounds. I heard from the reviews that the senseo coffee was horrible tasting so I was a bit concerned when I had purchased alot of senseo coffee. Well, I bought the barista coffee flavors, cafe mocha, latte vanilla and caramel macchiato. I like my coffees doctored up with stuff...when I first tasted the coffee without anything in it, well it really did not taste very good..but then again I put sweet creamers in my coffee and I do not drink it just black. So, for me I think the senseo coffee pods are fine. They do have some new flavors out and perhaps they have taken everyones account for the poor tasting coffee and made something better. It might be worth a try. Thanks for the tips on where to buy other pods...aloha web site. The only other thing is they promised a 20.00 rebate and I did not receive it in my package.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Senseo: Great Machines, Horrible Coffee
I got one of these directly from Senseo as part of a promotion where I was supposed to share the product with friends and family. After my first few cups of Senseo coffee (included) I don't think they would've wanted me to be sharing my opinion with friends and family. Following some suggestions in other reviews here and elsewhere I tried getting some different brands of pods online. This made a HUGE improvement. I now have quick, easy, and delicious coffee. Additionally, most of the pods I found will make a full 8 oz with only one pod so you don't have to go through two pods for every normal sized mug of coffee. It's still not quite up to a freshly ground cup of premium coffee which I prefer when I have the time to deal with all the prep and cleaning of the normal coffee maker, but is great when I'm running late or need a quick caffeine fix before I can even function. My only complaint at this point is that the included reservoir only holds 20 oz, but they have a larger replacement available that I'm considering. If you're looking for something to make a quick cup of tasty coffee, I'd recommend this product but only with non-Senseo pods!

Remember when those two satellites collided the other day? Seems that they'll be the space junk gift that keeps on giving, as their 800-km debris orbiting field could hamper all future space launches.

"Future launches will have to be adjusted with regard to the fact that the debris [from the collision] has spread over an 800-km area and will gather at a common orbit in 5-6 years," said Alexander Stepanov, director of the Pulkovo Observatory in St. Petersburg.

According to NASA this massive cloud of human failure joins the 19,000 other objects that currently pollute the low and high orbit space around the planet. As we reported last week, the Hubble Space Telescope is already in danger.

On a related note, anyone who criticized the Pixar movie Wall-E for "liberal bias" or for "unfairly" depicting future humans as slovenly creatures that polluted Earth and space to the point where it was uninhabitable is a dufus. And so ends my personal rant for the day. [Space Fellowship]

The W3C Multimodal Interaction working group has posted the finished recommendation of EMMA: Extensible MultiModal Annotation markup language. According to the abstract, this spec "provides details of an XML markup language for containing and annotating the interpretation of user input. Examples of interpretation of user input are a transcription into words of a raw signal, for instance derived from speech, pen or keystroke input, a set of attribute/value pairs describing their meaning, or a set of attribute/value pairs describing a gesture. The interpretation of the user's input is expected to be generated by signal interpretation processes, such as speech and ink recognition, semantic interpreters, and other types of processors for use by components that act on the user's inputs such as interaction managers."
